Penelope Works It

Penelope Cruz is not only stunning, she has wonderful taste in fashion. To the right, she's wearing an all red (plus fabulous black heels) ensemble, and is bringing back the '80s blazer and Hammer pants. Not everyone can pull off this look, but she does it with grace! To get this look for yourself, or a touch of it, wear a fun blazer with any bottom and a cool top and heels for an edgier look, or a conservative approach with neatly hemmed shirts and pants. You can also wear the Hammer pants with a tight-fitting shirt and funky wedges and become a bonafied fashionista!

Lindsay's Changing it Up

Very few people look good with a variety of different hair colors, and no matter what one says about Lindsay Lohan's music/acting careers, I think she's someone who looks good as a brunette, a blonde, and a redhead! Check out her new 'do to the right. Image thanks to Popsugar.

Classy Wear for All Body Types

Camila Alves, Brazilian model and girlfriend of actor Matthew McConaughey wore a Poleci clay dress to the “Livestrong” party celebrating Tour de France this past weekend in Paris, France. This Poleci pieces is currently available for purchase at the Poleci store, in New York City’s Meatpacking District. She's pregnant and can still wear this Poleci dress! All of the Poleci designs are versatile for any shape or size, and Camila proves it!

Princesses of Pop Unite

Katy Perry and Rihanna both dazzled at the after party for Katy's concert. Rihanna stepped out in a sheer black top with pink star pasties underneath, and a tight black and white mini skirt. Her nails were rocking, of course, as well as her new hairdo! Katy looked hip in a one-piece jumper and pink lips, and together they enjoyed lollipops that look like plastic... tasty?

Miley Does it Right

Miley Cyrus is pairing up with designer Max Azria to create an affordable clothing line for Walmart. The best part? Every item is under $20! That's the way it should be done, especially in this recession. Click here for a movie on the clothing line. It hits stores August 2nd- so soon and perfect for back-to-school!

His Wife is SO LUCKY

Too bad he's married. That is all.

Sparkling Sienna

What do you think of Sienna Miller's shiny Gucci suit get-up?

I think it's over the top, and something I would wear do a Disco-themed Roller blading party (random, but that's the image that came to mind), but at least her face still looks good!

Taylor in Teen Vogue

Taylor Momsen's on the cover of Teen Vogue's September issue. I'm interested to see what she says about being a 16-year-old starlet, but more interested in Gossip Girl coming back! I'm an addict, it's true.

New TV Personalities for TV Guide

TV Guide Network announced today that it has signed talent deals with well-known faces from two of the highest rated shows on primetime television. Carrie Ann Inaba, a judge on the hit network juggernaut series “Dancing with the Stars,” and Chris Harrison, host of the popular long-running dating reality series “The Bachelor,” will anchor TV Guide Network’s signature live Red Carpet shows starting at the 2009 Primetime Emmy® Awards.
Ms. Inaba and Mr. Harrison will also host the network’s live Red Carpet coverage in 2010 at the Golden Globe® Awards, Screen Actor’s Guild Awards®, Grammy® Awards and Academy Awards®. Following on the heels of TV Guide Network's announcement last week of an agreement with Disney-ABC Domestic Television to acquire the exclusive basic cable off-network rights to ABC Studios' Golden Globe (R) Award winning television series "Ugly Betty," the new talent deals are another building block in TV Guide Network’s transformation to become a top quality destination for entertainment programming.

I'm excited to see what they do with the programs! They're both personable and attractive people, so I'll definitely be watching them for my red carpet coverage! I can't wait to watch the red carpets this year... I bet they'll be fabulous!

Gossip Girl Style Part III

Leighton Meester was seen kissing Ed Westwick on the set of Gossip Girl recently. The pair was seen kissing and holding a bottle of champagne. These two must have something to celebrate! Meester was carrying a patent ostrich Nancy Gonzalez clutch. She looks FABULOUS, and I LOVE that outfit. The anticipation for the new season is killing me!

Calling All Leos!

Want to win a limited edition Slane & Slane pendant? The 2009 Annual Edition Lion pendant is up for grabs. One lucky winner will win a limited edition Lion pendant valuing $1,200. Become a friend of Slane & Slane on Facebook and post a comment under the promotion to enter the contest.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Slane-Slane/11277472868?ref=ts

The 2009 Annual Edition distinguishes itself from the original Lion in Slane & Slane's Collection by highlighting the remarkable face and mane of this enduring symbol of bravery, strength and dauntless courage. A sketch of lions by the fifteenth century Renaissance painter and engraver, Albrecht Curer, was a reference for this sterling silver and eighteen karat gold limited edition pendant and charm, limited, as before, by time and not in number.

I hope I win... but good luck to all of you, too! ;)

Hearts On Your Sleeve

I love Petit Bateau shirts! Once a year when I was growing up, my mom and I would take special trips into Boston before school started to buy their basic yet comfortable and long lasting t-shirts, that work well with any outfit and can be worn to a variety of events. Now, Petit Bateau has paired with Kitsuné, the home of the musical force Heartsrevolution (whom I adore, and if you're "in" with music, it's a sick band to know), and the tee shirts are unstoppable! There is a new green edition available for both men and women, which will be available starting August 4th in selected stores in Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Milan, and Munich. I can't wait to get my hands on these! I desperately need some new fundamentals in my wardrobe, and these are the perfect match!

Menswear's Finest

A major player on the high-end global men’s wear segment, the Italian company Caruso, founded in 1958 in Soragna (Parma), invests in the world’s most important market for Italian Fashion. In New York, Caruso has established a permanent showroom dedicated to answering multi-brand retailers’ needs – open dialogue, customer service, trunk shows – to be managed by Enrico di Giovanni, an experienced and high-skilled manager. The first contacts with the market had a very positive feedback: Neiman Marcus has acquired the Caruso brand starting from the A/W 2010 season, and Barney’s, Saks, and Paul Stuart have chosen Caruso for their private label.

The new image of Caruso “Virtuoso Menswear” created in 2009 highlights the “elective affinities” between the company and the great Maestro: he was the first true symbol of made-in-Italy in the world, inclined towards research and innovation, which he exploited by using recording for the first time, and was also a great lover of his audience, whom he used to face dressed in impeccable tailor’s suits.

Rather than at the
Metropolitan Opera House, Caruso invited the best retailers of America on Sunday, July 19, at the opening of the Men’s Market Week, on the 44th floor of the Hearst Tower, the prestigious building of the Hearst Corporation designed by Sir Norman Foster. The evening was organized by Esquire, the media partner that is in closest tuning with the American trade, and was called “Homage to Caruso” and inspired by the magic atmosphere of “Fitzcarraldo,” the film by Werner Herzog where the divine voice of the Italian tenor Enrico Caruso pervades the primeval scenario of the Amazonian rainforest. During the event, Umberto Angeloni, who invested in the Soragna company at the end of 2008 and manages its development strategy as the CEO, addressed his guests saying “[America] is still the country where you prove your worth and will remain so forever. Everyone talks about developing countries and China, but consider that 10 percent growth there is equal to one percent here. This is still the leading luxury market in the world.”

“The strategy of the Caruso Brand, in the US and elsewhere, is clearly explained in our mission statement,” says Umberto Angeloni. “We have chosen the most advanced retailers as our true partners. Together we intend to find the best solutions to consumer needs, highlighted by this severe crisis that, in our opinion, is bound to change purchase habits with respect to high-end products for good. The US market is most likely to recover quickly from this crisis, and will provide great satisfaction to those that manage to offer high value and authenticity at a fair price.”

I can't wait to see the new Caruso pieces in person - I hear they're extraordinary!

Pearly Wonders

Rihanna was seen with multiple layers of pearls at the premiere of “Inglorious Basterds” in London. Sporting an

Alexander McQueen jumpsuit, the exaggerated pearl ensemble was the perfect accessory. Check out Carolee (steal) and

Slane & Slane (splurge) for similar options. Rihanna (like always) looked fierce in her unique yet classy ensemble, but you don't have to wear loads of pearls with a designer jumpsuit to get the look. A classic string of pearls with a polo, a dress, a v-neck shirt, a casual sweater, or a t-shirt works magic, too. Pearls make any outfit look proper and sophisticated, and it's a cheap fix, too!

The Perfect Accessory

Funny girl Malin Akerman was partying in New York City at the Svedka Vodka Session with D.J. Mark Ronson. She was sporting a rock n’ roll chic ring by Slane & Slane. The sterling silver large basket weave ring was the perfect accessory for a summer night out. Ring available at Nordstroms.

SHOWStudio.com Opens Up its SHOP

SHOWstudio.com, the groundbreaking website which has pushed the boundaries of online fashion communication since its launch in 2000, is set to introduce yet another element to its constantly evolving platform: the SHOWstudio SHOP. SHOWstudio.com was founded on the idea of showing the process behind the creation of fashion imagery - now the SHOWstudio SHOP will offer the public the unique chance to purchase part of this process, and indeed part of fashion's history. The new retail space, situated in the heart of Mayfair, is based on two completely new retail concepts - part live studio, part gallery. For the first time, the SHOWstudio SHOP will offer for sale some of the spectacular props that have graced iconic photographic shoots and catwalk shows, selected from historical and contemporary fashion imagery and created by set designers and fashion stylists including Simon Costin, Katy England, Simon Foxton, Shona Heath, Jane How, Michael Howells and Gideon Ponte. Simultaneously, SHOWstudio will continue its commitment to live online creation, inviting some of the world’s greatest designers to create unique pieces in front of webcams in a new purpose-designed live studio space. After seeing the articles being created real-time, SHOWstudio’s audience will be able to purchase the final items from the SHOWstudio retail space and through the website itself. This innovative venture will continue SHOWstudio's commitment to collaborate with a wealth of high-profile creatives, which to date has included such luminaries as Alexander McQueen, Björk, Comme des Garçons, John Galliano and Gareth Pugh. Carefully chosen and curated by Nick Knight and the SHOWstudio team, the pieces within the SHOWstudio SHOP will available on line as well as from the Bruton Place shop. Formerly a barn, a brothel, the studios and galleries of Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud, and most recently Maison Martin Margiela, 1-9 Bruton Place now houses the new purpose-designed live studio as well as the retail space. The SHOWstudio SHOP enables the public to experience the outstanding creativity and originality expected from SHOWstudio.com, first hand.

The SHOWstudio SHOP opened on July 14th and is already generating lots of positive buzz! Fashion is art, and it's wonderful seeing the two come together with such unique people and in such a perfect setting. I think the project is an amazing collaboration, and I can't wait to visit the shop myself and be a part of history!

SPOTTED! Jessica Szohr carrying a Nancy Gonzalez python clutch on the set of Gossip Girl. It seems as though Szohr’s character, Vanessa, has a new love interest. The Nancy Gonzalez clutch completed Szohr’s boho-chic look. She is so beautiful, as is the whole cast! I wonder who this new man is... can't wait for the new season!

Gossip Girl Style Part II

Spotted again on the set of Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester wearing a Slane & Slane 16 Strand Alexandria Clasp bracelets. This opulent look is made from multi sizefresh water pearls strung on a distinctively Slane & Slane Alexandria Clasp. A chic twist on pearls for an Upper East Side fashionista. She is just too fabulous!

Gossip Girl Style

Leighton Meester toting a Nancy Gonzalez handbag on the set of Gossip Girl this week. In true Blair Waldorf style, Meester carried the crocodile Nancy Gonzalez handbag as she sat on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Blake Lively. I absolutely LOVE the style on the show - can't wait for the new season! Image thanks to popsugar.com!

Hey everyone!

I'm leaving for Maine in a few hours!  A private island with no internet/cell service... I'M SO EXCITED!  It will be nice to get away from the real world for a bit :)
So I won't be doing any updates or anything while I'm away, but I'll be back in action on Wednesday!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and HAPPY BASTILLE DAY on July 14th - celebrating the independence of my home country!!!

P.S. My friend Kelsey took this photo in Martha's Vineyard!  I know I'm not going there, but it was so beautiful and reminded me of Maine (sort of) so I posted it - isn't she so talented?

Gossip Girl is Back!

On the set of Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester was spotted carrying a luggage inspired clutch by L.A.M.B.handbags.  The Orissa clutch in cadet by L.A.M.B. was the perfect summer accessory for the Upper East Side socialite.  I just love their style in Gossip Girl!  I can't wait for it to start again!

Saint Grace is a Real Saint to the Wardrobe

We all know the name Saint Grace, and we all have seen celebrities like Fergie, Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson (just to name a few) wear the stylish brand.  However, dressing celebrities is not all that Saint Grace is about.  Saint Grace is true to its name – it’s a lifesaver for people all over the world who need quality clothes that are comfortable.  When I was perusing the Summer 09 Collection, one thing came to mind: get me those clothes!  It’s so hard to find clothes that fit every body type, especially in the age of super-skinny models, intense diets, and freaky work-out programs.  Finding clothes that can look good on celebrities, as well as on everyday people, is nearly impossible.  That’s where Saint Grace comes in.  Stylish casual wear is one way of putting their summer 09 collection.  The buttoned-down Teeani tee looks great with stylish shorts or a regular pair of jeans, and it can be worn over a bathing suit or with a high-waisted skirt.  It can be dressed up or down, like many of the pieces offered.  The Francine dress, Lizette V Neck Dress, Eggo Tank Dress (my favorite piece because I love form-fitting clothes), and Zoe T Dress can all be worn in a super-cute way to the beach, or for errands or for visiting a friend’s house.  They’re real clothes for real people that can really be worn for any activity.  The Rona Pencil Skirt is a great investment, for it can be worn to work with a blazer and oxford, or with a casual Alina top like pictured in the collection.  The Alina shirt can be worn with skirts, shorts, or pants, and is a perfect going-out shirt for the movies or a party.  The Easy V and Sammy Fleece Pants are cozy-wear to cuddle up in at the house, but the shirt can also be worn with any outfit – a solid white T is always in!  I absolutely love V Neck sweatshirts like the Billy one featured, and think they look great with leggings (as shown), or with jeans, or skirts or shorts!  It’s perfect for any season and all friendly attire.  The Abi Ruffle Henley and Pocket Ankle Zip are clothes I would wear to my country club, or out shopping or on just a regular day, as would many women.  They’re chic yet easy-to-wear, and I love the tangerine color!  Blazers are always in style, and tank tops are a necessity in all wardrobes.  The Pocket skinny pants are form-fitting and can be dressed up or down, depending on the event.  I love nautical outfits, so the rugby tank and tracy pants are a great combo, but also can be worn apart with different tops and bottoms.  The Katina dress, Aida dress, Sible dress, Chloe dress, Gianna dress, Josephine dress, and Rosalie dress are the perfect multi-purpose dresses!  They can be casual beach, work, or party wear, but can also be worn to more black-tie events.  They’re summery and chic, as well, and fit multiple body types.  The Justine tank looks sporty with leggings (and the Alex leggings are a must have because leggings can be worn with a variety of outfits), but can also be worn with skirts or shorts for a casual summer look.  The Ella Cami is another item that can be worn with many different bottoms, making it a versatile and summery piece that can be dressed up or down.  The Laurette Henley is a relaxed shirt that once again can be worn with many styles.  Sweats are a must for any girl, especially on those cooler summer nights or for relaxing in any season!  The Arlie hoodie, Dillion jacket, Sammy fleece pants, JJ tank and Ali pants are stylish enough for guests to come over, but are still laid-back and don’t require any fuss.  The Shab top is dressy but still wearable out in the day or at night.  All in all, every item in Saint Grace’s Summer 09 collection is wearable for any type of figure or person, and can be dressed up or down.  It’s a collection relatable to the masses, and I’m glad one was finally created!

Emma Watson Strikes Again

How amazing does Emma Watson look in this gorgeous ensemble?  Simple, classic yet chic and age-appropriate.  Work it work it.  CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!

25Park.Com Shopping Spree

So I recently discovered 25park.com, and my wardrobe has gotten a major facelift ever since. They offer some of the hardest-to-find pieces from Marchesa and Elizabeth and James, along with many other designer brands! I picked out many pieces to share with you that I adore, like the AKA New York Butterfly Dress. It comes in a variety of colors and I am just OBSESSED with the shape of it, the colors, and the gem waist band! I also love rompers now (they work with my long legs), so the AKA New York Tiny Flowers Romper is a definite keeper. The Vassilisa Natalia Dress is great for a summer party or to go to the beach, and it reminds me of Nicole Richie/Rachel Zoe with the effortlessly cool vibe going on. The Elizabeth and James Jacket has been seen on almost every celebrity, and I wish it weren't sold out or else I would get it - it's perfect for any shape or size and with any outfit! That's a keeper for ages! The Leoffler Randall Full Skirt is high-waisted and is made out of such a pretty fabric! That could be dressed up with a nice white or black shirt with a pretty sweater and heels, or made for a day on the town with a casual white T (tucked in, of course), cool gladiator sandals like the ones by Antik Batik pictured, and funky jewelry with a killer handbag. The Barron Duquette Jewel dress I tweeted about (www.twitter.com/ebrueblog), and I think it's fabulous for a night event with cool red or black heels. I can just see myself holding a drink looking out onto the ocean at a fancy beach party in that dress! I also love the Giuseppe Zanotti zebra pumps just because they're zebra and can jazz up any outfit! The AKA New York long pant jumper is wonderful for cooler summer days when you don't want to dress up or know what to throw on. Lastly, the AKA New York Cluster Jewel dress is great for a nighttime event (and it comes in a variety of beautiful colors), or for going to polo where I think I'll wear mine! I think I should be a personal shopper... I love clothes so much and can envision the outfits on certain people with certain bodies at certain places... wow, my future career is going to be FUN! So check out www.25park.com, it's worth it!
xoxo

Hayden's Hot Style Part II

Hayden Panettiere looked beautiful as she was promoting her new movie I Love You, Beth Cooper at Live with Regis and Kelly on Wednesday. Penettiere was spotted wearing the same pink Nancy Gonzalez python clutch to the premiere of the movie. She wore a Zac Posen top and skirt and Christian Louboutin shoes. She looks fabulous, once again!

Fashion Brought to Life

Want to see some eery yet fashionable masterpieces? Check out http://www.fashion16x9.com/. It's worth it!

Bilingual Clothing

This is such a great dress to wear to a cocktail party or a night out on the town! The cut will flatter any body type, and the pattern is eye-catching without being gaudy! Available at bilingualclothingnyc.com.

Jewelry Fix

All of my jewelry woes have been laid to rest now that I have discovered Alex and Ani (www.alexandani.com). Each Alex and Ani piece is environmentally conscious and hand crafted from recycled metals that inspire the spirit by designer, Carolyn Rafaelian. This effort to incorporate environmental consciousness while staying fashionable is extremely important in the world we live in. The line consists of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and hair accessories, and fuses glamour and consciousness. The Alex and Ani’s expandable concept allows for each piece of their jewelry to have a perfect custom fit!!!
Alex and Ani has also quickly emerged as the go-to brand for today’s most recognizable celebrities including Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Simpson, Miley Cyrus, and Cameron Diaz. One of my favorite bracelets I have put up with this post! I love the look of lots of bangles with a simple summer outfit, like a simple flowing dress or shirt with jeans and a cool pair of gladiator sandals. Their jewelry is truly inspiring!

The Beckhams Bare All

Giorgio Armani is pleased to unveil new images from Emporio Armani’s Autumn/Winter 2009-10 underwear campaign featuring David and Victoria Beckham photographed together. They are TOO HOT FOR WORDS! The new advertising campaign was shot in Milan, once again by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and will appear in fashion and lifestyle magazines and on signature billboards in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo, from July 2009 onwards. What a lucky photographer - the Beckhams are gorgeous!!

Accents Done Right

Hayden Panettiere arrives at the MTV Studios in New York City’s Times Square to meet with Alexa Chung. Panettiere is wearing an Elizabeth and James dress and Guissepe Zanotti open-toe booties. She chose to finish off her look with a purple Nancy Gonzalez clutch. As always, Panettiere looked gorgeous as she smiled for the paparazzi. I love her hair flat ironed like that and the accent of purple!

Hudson Looks Heavenly

On July 7th, 2009, Jennifer Hudson wore Martin Katz jewelry to Michael Jackson’s touching memorial. Hudson wore a long diamond chain necklace and diamond cuff bracelet while she attended the memorial to pay tribute to the fallen star. In the image, a very pregnant Hudson poses with singer Usher. Did anyone watch the memorial? It was so moving! What brave children he has! And the performers and speeches were all beautiful. R.I.P.

Hayden's Hot Style

On July 7th, 2009, Hayden Panettiere was seen at the New York premiere of I Love You Beth Cooper. Panettiere looked amazing in her Andy & Deb dress. She accessorized her look with a Nancy Gonzalez clutch and Slane & Slane small bee omega earrings and ring. Work it, girl!

The Mystery Behind Ashley P.

Ok, so I know a lot of you are wondering who I am, where I come from, why I blog. I'm not going to disclose too much personal information, except for that I'm a real girl living a real life who has an obsession with fashion and who likes to blog about the things she cannot afford (or her parents won't buy because they think she's crazy). Many changes will be coming to this blog as I head off to college (oh! Now you know my age!), but EB Rue will forever and always be by a girl born in Paris and raised in America with a penchant for fashion and writing. Oh, and my new picture was taken by a friend of mine when we went to a baseball game the other day - isn't it awesome?! It symbolizes me looking in a brighter and newer direction in life and with EB Rue. My sister made that necklace for me! So talented :). The picture before (the four colored eyes), was done by another friend who's going to RISD for art - she's amazing! It was time, though, for a new picture and a fresh start. I hope you enjoy my blog!

xoxo
Ashley P.

HARRY POTTER OBSESSION!

Ok, so I grew up reading Harry Potter. I can truly read each of the books in a day - I sit down and don't stop! I don't even have to go to the bathroom or eat or anything I get so absorbed in the books! When I was 11, I waited outside my mailbox all day on my birthday hoping I would get a letter from Hogwarts... sad, but true. Anyway, what it comes down to is that I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan! And on July 16, the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will finally be in my area! Since I can't yet see the movie, I'm focusing on the wonderful actors and actresses and their fabulous ways of dressing. Emma Watson, like usual, looks fresh and elegant in a vintage Ossie Clark dress at the premier in London. I love love love her dress and hair band! Helen Bonham Carter, although an amazing actress, sported a unique look, but she always seems to do so and even a strange outfit works on her! Her castle purse, though, is awesome! I can't wait for the movie to come out!!!!!! Did I mention I'm obsessed? Oh! And one thing I will forever be proud of? I called the 7th book. As in, I knew exactly what was going to happen and that Snape was good. I swear J.K. Rowling and I are on the brain wavelength. Alright, enough about how I knew everything about the 7th book before it even came out! Back to fashion!

Just Lovely

Megan Fox and Cate Blanchett both look stunning at the Armani Privé Spring 2009 Couture Show. Cate's outfit is a modern touch on a classic Oriental look, and of course her skin and hair look flawless! Megan looks classy in her form-fitting white dress. Both outfits are different styles but compliment their wearers perfectly!

Miley All Grown Up

Miley Cyrus is on the cover of the new Elle magazine. I think she looks fabulous, and the pictures inside are edgy and new for her, but they've gotten a lot of controversy for being too mature! The poor thing is just growing up - give her a break! Or do you think she should still keep to her child star image? Whichever way she goes, she definitely has great style!

Stars But No Stripes

Rihanna sported this unique look to a fourth of July party the other day. She can work the outfit, but do you think it's inappropriate to wear to an event? I do really like the blazer with the sequined skirt, though!

Happy 4th!!

Happy belated 4th of July, USA!!
I hope your day was filled with sunshine, friends, food, happiness, and fireworks!!
xoxo
Ashley

P.S. I chose this photo (thanks to www.jenisfamous.com) because Jessica just looks so patriotic in it! It's weird, though, I admit... but hey - it's the 4th! Let's celebrate our independence with kind words and thoughts and smiles, like Jessica is doing!
