Happy 2010, everyone :)

I hope you all had a fun, festive and safe night! Did any of you glimpse the 13th full moon of 2009? It won't happen again until 2028! What a year 2009 has been, and not only with the Blue Moon! From pregnancies, deaths, marriages, the economy, hook-ups, fashion, tv, music and the environment, 2009 covered it all... I wonder what will happen in 2010... there's barely anything left to cover! Here's a picture of a blue moon and one of the new U.S. federal stamps for 2010, with Katharine Hepburn on it! So exciting! She's a legendary icon for film and fashion. I can't wait to see the other stars, as well!

Holiday Party Attire

Still don't know what to wear for your holiday parties? Here are some quick and easy ideas!

1) An LBD always works, but this season spice it up with a big, jeweled brooch, head piece, necklace, or rich shoes!

2) Although an LBD is a classic, try jewel tones this winter, like deep greens, purples, blues and golds.

3) Don't go overboard with something too skimpy or short. A tight dress is great, but only if it is at the knee for a cocktail party, paired with some fabulous accessories!

4) My favorite look for holiday parties is a dress with a tight bodice that poofs right below the waist. These dresses accentuate one's curves but also allow you to eat all the pie you want!

5) A nice sweater paired with an embroidered skirt is a key look this season.

6) Boots are necessary for snow. Whether these boots are chic Steve Madden riding boots, Hunter boots, or UGGs, they go great with a variety of outfits and will keep you toasty!

7) Sparkle and shine for New Years and the holidays! Whether a full dress, a skirt, sweater, shoes, or jewelry, shine adds a fun element to any outfit!

8) Leg warmers are a fashionable way to stay warm in heels, as shown here by Loeffler Randall.

9) Some celebrity and designer examples are shown to the right, such as stars wearing yellow, purple and navy at the launch of RM for Rouland Mouret, a green sweater wrapped around a turtleneck dress at DKNY, Doc Martens, a leopard print dress (that would look festive with textured tights) from D&G, sparkly pieces from Valentino, a Temperley London fur jacket and dress ensemble (another great look for winter), and some fun accessories, nude dresses, and textured clothes from Louis Vuitton, Marni and other fabulous designers. These kid-friendly, educational, cute and fun books by Dr. Nancy Pruett are some of my favorite children's books about France! The Three Sisters series follows three sisters, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Charlotte, (along with their French-American poodle, Yankee Doodle), around Paris and Versailles! The stories incorporate basic French words, and on these journeys the reader learns about French monuments, restaurants, shops, and more! Also, in the back of each book is a dictionary. The rhyming scheme and illustrations are two major highlights, as well. Newly printed is the Three Sisters cookbook, which is a compilation of my favorite French recipes! These books are good for all ages, and the cookbook will make you feel like a real Parisian!

1) Gwen Stefani, Dita von Teese and Evan Rachel Wood all wore classy yet edgy ensembles to the Fashion Group International's annual Night of Stars.

2) The Kardashian family looked fierce at Lamar Odom's launch of his clothing line, Rich Soil, at Kitson.

3) Diane von Furstenberg, and the rest of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, welcomed Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as new members on the board. These girls definitely deserve to be members of the CFDA. Their fashion choices have influenced entire generations, and they have been fashion idols since they were toddlers. I'm a huge fan of theirs, and am so happy they are now a part of America's greatest fashion team! Congratulations!
